Extend free parking period for shopping customers
Pay discounted fee thanks to accumulated grace times.
Scenario for movie customers:
People who booked an internet ticket scan their self-printed barcode or smartphone at the “quick access” entry station.
Other movie customers take a ticket at a “regular” entry station and then buy a movie ticket at the kiosks or the cash registers. They then receive a movie ticket with a DAS barcode including a parking discount of for instance 1 hour.
Movie customers can extend their parking grace time simply by scanning their movie ticket at the Barcode Updaters from all other shops in the shopping mall.
Movie customers (and non-customers) staying longer than allowed scan their most recent ticket at the pay station and buy an exit ticket taking into account grace times possibly accumulated.
All other customers:
Take a ticket at the “regular” entry stations.
Extend their parking grace time each time they scan their most recent barcode ticket at a Barcode Updater of shops they attend.
Before leaving the car park, they scan their most recent barcode to the pay station, pay if necessary a balance or get a free-of-charge exit ticket thanks to the accumulated grace times.
